GEN Conference 2018
The 2018 Government Economic Network Conference will be held on Friday 9 November at Te Papa Museum, Wellington, with the theme ‘Improving peoples' lives through effective policy’.
Ensuring policies are effective and achieve the desired impacts is harder than it seems. The conference will explore how economic analysis can help us to advise governments on the best ways to improve the quality of peoples’ lives.
Murray Sherwin, Chair of the Productivity Commision will provide a keynote address on how to make policy effective. The breadth of the work of the Commission and in particular the insights of our inquiry on Regulatory Institutions and Practices will provide important insights not only about how regulation can go wrong, but also on how regulation can be improved.
